Fun Coffee Tables
If you are the kind of person that always likes something fun to do, you may want to reassess what you are using for coffee tables in your home. Did you know there is a whole line of coffee tables that are not only a place to set a cup of java, but are also great for playing a game or two?
There is a whole world of game coffee tables out there that run the gamut from old world games to those that are at the height of the digital age in gaming technology.
Old World Games
The first options in game coffee tables are those that have old games that you know and love like chess and backgammon. Many of these tables have the game board as their tabletop, so they are always ready to be used for a game. Many of these types of coffee tables then have small side drawers that hold the game pieces. No longer do you have to wonder where you put that board game. It’s always right there waiting for you.
Pool Table
How about a game of pool? There are a few unique coffee tables that have taken pool from being a full game table to being a smaller version of the game, where you can set your drink and sink a few at the same time. These have smaller pool cues that can often attach right to the side of the table. Then you can play an abbreviated game and see if you can clear all of your solids or stripes from the table while you wait for your coffee to become cool enough to drink.
Pinball
Who doesn’t love a game of pinball? Now you can play in the comfort of your own living room thanks to pinball coffee tables. While a regular pinball game is very large and would eat up a major space in your home, a coffee table pinball game is a smaller version of this very popular game that you can play while kicking back in your living room.
I know what you’re thinking; pinball tables are slanted, right? How will that work? Well not these tables. The slant in the table has been taken into consideration and the tabletop has been leveled out so it will in fact hold your drink while you play the game.
Video Games
The newest tact taken in coffee tables that are also games is to have them go digital. Imagine sitting your drink down and then looking down to see your favorite video game right in front of you. Between sips you can be playing that game with the controller that is either a part of the table or tucked into a holding space in the side of the table.
For those who like the older games, plenty of games like Pac Man and Centipede can come in coffee table format. But that’s not all. Because today’s gaming systems are so small, all of the new games can often be plugged in and come to life in front of you on the table.
