Chesterfields Iconic Sofa Is Now A Concrete Garden Furniture
Not so long ago the Chesterfield’s iconic sofa has been turned into a concrete sofa. It is now a part of a garden furniture. The concrete model was built by taking the mould from the old genuine leather. The concrete sofa took a week to be built. In this modern era of contemporary furniture what do we have here? In a way it is a good thing that they want to keep the memory of an iconic sofa but in concrete? Ok fair enough but now at least put some comfy cushions on them.
The sofa is 7 foot wide and the seat is fairly comfortable was the worlds of the creator Steve Jones. I know for sure that I won’t able to sit on the concrete sofa for few hours because my bottom will certainly start hurting. He also said the concrete collection will be on sale by the end of the year. Would you want to buy the sofa made of concrete? If it’s an iconic sofa shouldn’t the local community take charge of the sofa? I just don’t understand all this.
I don’t see this concrete sofa as being a part of restaurant furniture or bar furniture or hotel furniture. Though I can see some rich person buying it and making it a part of their garden. If this sofa gets to the reception just imagine the situation when you ask a new visitor to seat on it. It can seriously hurt someone and I cannot see anyone seating on the sofa. When you have a long day you want to relax with your feet up and we do seat down on the sofa or chair with some force when we are tired. Just imagine the pain you will suffer while seating down on the concrete sofa on that force. Talk about having modular seating in your house.
Its a great gesture from Steve Jones to create a concrete version of an iconic sofa.
